ComingUp Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 2, 2026

In short: ComingUp does not operate an account system, analytics service, event server, proprietary cloud backup, or live-sync service. Your countdowns and settings stay on your device. Optional Google services process limited data when you use rewarded ads or Google Play purchases, as explained below.

This Privacy Policy describes how the ComingUp Android application (package com.comingup.countdown) accesses, uses, stores, and shares information.

Information stored on your device

ComingUp stores the information you create or select—including manual countdowns, event details, notes, selected photos, appearance choices, settings, onboarding state, the device-local credit wallet, and cached purchase ownership—in the app's private storage on your Android device. ComingUp does not upload this information to a ComingUp server.

Calendar information

If you grant calendar permission and enable calendar integration, ComingUp reads events from Android's local CalendarContract so it can display selected calendars in the app. Calendar providers such as Google Calendar, Outlook, or Exchange may separately synchronize those calendars to your device under their own policies. ComingUp does not write to your calendars, upload calendar entries, or include calendar events or calendar identifiers in a ComingUp backup.

Optional rewarded ads and consent

ComingUp uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google's User Messaging Platform to support optional rewarded ads and consent choices. When these Google services are available, they may automatically collect or share an IP address (which may be used to estimate general location), user interactions such as app launches, taps and video views, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers for advertising, analytics, and fraud-prevention purposes. Google states that this information is encrypted in transit.

ComingUp does not open a rewarded ad automatically. An ad is requested only after you explicitly choose the rewarded-ad action. Learn more in the Google Privacy Policy and Google's Mobile Ads data disclosure.

Google Play purchases

Google Play Billing processes the optional lifetime Premium purchase and restoration of an existing purchase. ComingUp may receive purchase status and product-entitlement information needed to provide and restore Premium, but ComingUp does not receive or store your payment-card details. Google's handling of purchase information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Permissions and device features

Depending on the features you choose, ComingUp may request access for notifications and lock-screen countdowns, precise alarms, alarm full-screen display, wallpaper, and read-only calendars. ComingUp does not request contacts, location, camera, microphone, or broad storage access for these features. Photo selection and manual .comingup backup and restore use Android's system pickers so you choose the specific item or destination.

External support and other links

Email, WhatsApp, and developer-support actions open the relevant external app or website only after you tap them. ComingUp does not send a message or contribution automatically. Information you choose to provide after leaving ComingUp is handled by the selected service under that service's privacy policy.

Sharing and sale of data

The ComingUp developer does not sell your countdowns, calendar events, notes, photos, settings, or backups. ComingUp has no proprietary server to receive that content. Data may be processed by Google when you use Google Mobile Ads, consent, or Google Play Billing services, as described above.

Retention and deletion

App data stored locally remains on your device until you delete it in ComingUp, clear ComingUp's app storage, or uninstall the app. Clearing cache alone is not intended to remove persistent ComingUp data. Manual .comingup backup files remain wherever you chose to save them until you delete them yourself.

Purchase records are retained and controlled by Google Play under Google's policies. Messages sent through email or WhatsApp are retained by you and the selected communication provider according to your choices and that provider's policies.

Security

ComingUp relies on Android's private app storage and system permission controls to protect local information. Network communication performed by Google SDKs uses encrypted transport according to Google's documentation. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but ComingUp limits access and collection to what is needed for the features you choose.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when ComingUp's functionality or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when a revised policy is published.
